1. The Golden Heart Softball Association meeting was held on 13 February 2008 at 1842 hrs in the Noel Wien Library. 

2.  Last month's minutes were adopted.

3.  Financial Report- The association is budgeted to cover the winter months. No money is apparent at this time.

4.  No reports from the Board Chair, Executive Director, or District Commissioner.

5.  Committee Reports

  • Gaming Committee- The board is awaiting for Dawn Lighthall to present a proposal to sell pull tabs at the complex.
  • Construction Committee- The committee is still waiting on quotes from MacCheyene's and it will then be compared to Lowe's and Home Depot's quotes.

6.  Old Business

  • Still needing tournament award ideas.  Trinkets for Tourney MVP's is still under consideration.  More research will need to be done on process and possible cost savings. OPEN
  • Snack Bar- We are still awaiting Kate Marshall's bid proposal for managing the concession stand.  We have received interest from a Robert Cain to manage concessions. OPEN
  • Fashion Show presented by Theresa Quakenbush- Tentative date set for Friday, June 13, 2008.  No league games will be sheduled for that night. OPEN
  • Sign up procedures- Play It Again Sports is willing to have a drop off box for players contracts and fees.  CLOSED
  • Marketing- Boatel is considering hosting an award ceremony.  Jason Braswell will talk to a friend at KTVF for possible air-time at peak hours to promote GHSA. OPEN
  • Members access to information- Financial information such as monthly expenses, electricity bill, water bill, umpire fees, and field maintenance was suggested to be posted on the web site and at the fields for member's vier where the players fees are being utilized. CLOSED
  • Playground- Lowe's has all the paperwork needed for the proposed playground.  Awaiting response. OPEN

7.  New Business

  • Season II Batting League- Sign ups for the second session are still available on the web site under "Players looking for Teams."
  • Email Concerns- There are a few emails about specific nights of play, so a proposed nights of play is now posted on the website:  Monday- Coed C, Tuesday- Coed A/B, and Coed Church, Wednesday- Mens B and D, Thursday- Mens C and Friday Coed D, if  no comments are received by 6 pm, February 29th it will become final for the 2008 season.  All other email traffic will be answered accordingly depending on the concern. 

8.  The next Golden Heart Softball Association meeting will be Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Mary Siah Recreation Center.  This is the first Annual Spring Meeting of the 2008 season.
